Tacswap Groups: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

This FAQ covers the core functionality, permissions, and rules surrounding Tacswap Groups.

How do I post listings in a Group?

All listings must originate from Tacswap’s official listing creation flow.

Correct process:

  1. Create your listing through Tacswap
  2. Cross-post that listing into one or more Groups (if allowed)

What is NOT allowed:

  • Creating posts that act as listings inside Groups
  • Attempting to sell items without using the Listings Feed
  • Using Groups to bypass platform systems

Violations will result in:

  • Immediate content removal
  • Potential account action

Repeat offenses may lead to account removal without refund.

Who can create Tacswap Groups?

Only PRO Tacswap users can create a Group.

  • Group creation is limited to once every 30 days per user
  • This helps maintain quality, accountability, and active ownership across the platform

Who can join a Group?

Anyone on Tacswap can join a Group, including Groups-Only Access users.

  • Public Groups: Users can join immediately
  • Private Groups: Users must request access and be approved

Access approval is required for private Groups regardless of user role or account type.

How do I invite someone or share a Group?

If your role allows it (Member or Manager), you can invite others by:

  • Clicking the “Invite Members” button located below the Group description
  • Inviting users directly within Tacswap
  • Sharing the Group’s hyperlink externally

Permissions for inviting members are controlled by the Group Owner.

What are the Group user roles and what can they do?

Owner

Each Group has a single Owner with full control and accountability.

Owners can:

  • Set Group visibility (Public or Private)
  • Control which roles can invite or approve members
  • Transfer ownership of the Group
  • Freeze the Group (pause all activity)
  • Configure which listings can be cross-posted into the Group
  • Promote, demote, ban, or remove members
  • Remove posts
  • Create announcements

The Owner is ultimately responsible for all activity within the Group.

Manager

Managers assist with moderation and enforcement.

Managers can:

  • Remove posts
  • Kick or ban members
  • Create announcements
  • Invite members (if allowed by Owner settings)

Managers are expected to actively support Group compliance.

Member

Members participate in the Group and contribute content.

Members can:

  • Create posts
  • Cross-post listings (if allowed by Owner)
  • Invite members (if allowed by Owner)

Members must follow all Tacswap rules and Group-specific guidelines.

What happens if rules are violated?

Tacswap enforces Group rules and platform policies consistently.

Depending on severity and frequency, actions may include:

  • Content removal
  • Group restrictions or deletion
  • Account warnings or bans
  • Permanent account removal (including loss of paid access)

Repeated or intentional violations will result in escalated enforcement.

What content is allowed to be posted in Groups?

Groups are meant for community, discussion, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration—not for bypassing the Tacswap marketplace.

You may post:

  • Discussion threads and general conversation
  • Questions, advice, and troubleshooting
  • Educational content, tips, and how-tos
  • Media such as photos and videos relevant to the Group’s focus
  • Builds, projects, reviews, and experiences
  • Industry news, events, and updates
  • Gear showcases and non-transactional discussion of items
  • Cross-posts of existing Tacswap listings (if allowed by the Group Owner)
  • Community announcements and organized activities

Posts should add value to the community and fit the purpose of the Group.

What is not allowed in regular Group posts

  • Attempting to sell items outside of Tacswap Listings
  • “For sale” posts that act as listings
  • Price lists, offers, or negotiations conducted outside of the Listings system
  • Redirecting buyers or sellers off-platform to avoid fees
  • Content that violates Tacswap policies or applicable laws
  • Spam, harassment, or low-quality promotional dumping

Quick rule of thumb

If the intent of your post is to sell an item, it belongs in the Listings Feed first — then you may share it into Groups if allowed.

If the intent of your post is to share, discuss, learn, or collaborate, it likely belongs in Groups.

Final Note

Tacswap Groups are built to enhance—not replace—the core marketplace.

  • Use Listings for transactions
  • Use Groups for community, discussion, and amplification

Operating within these guidelines ensures a strong, trusted platform for everyone.
